ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Mike's Angels celebrated their first year with a big celebration on May 7, 2011.
Thanks to our wonderful supporters we were able to raise more than $3,000 through the silent auction and generous donations.
- Most Popular 'Toys'
What were the
most popular 'Toys'? Books!
Anne Glaser reports that with all the toys the group brought to the children, the most popular choice was - books! The children would play with the toys, but return to the piles of books time and time again. The collection was made possible by a Spanish-language book drive Anne held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church this summer, where she collected more than 50 children's books.

Urgent Need
The need is great. Currently, there are over 200 orphanages operating in Guatemala and only ten of those are approved by the government. UNICEF estimates that there are more than 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. At least 5,000 children live on the streets of the capital, abandoned by mothers who are too poor to keep them. In addition, the HIV/AIDS epidemic appears to be growing rapidly. Mike’s Angels, Inc. is dedicated to improving the lives of orphan children in Guatemala. Your donations make a difference. In addition to monetary contributions, the children need in kind donations of the following items:
